Madeira Wind Birds offer a variety of pelagic tours including their 'flagship' three days of ultimate pelagic expedition focused on petrels, storm petrels, shearwaters and any other vagrant bird species that might be around the North Atlantic Ocean. A birding experience that consists in observing closely the greatest number of tubenoses on the Western Palearctic and some close encounters with whales and dolphins too.

Since 2008 Madeira Wind Birds, together with Hadoram Shirihai, have been researching the Madeiran sea to find the hot spots for seabirds such as Zino's Petrels, Fea's/Desertas Petrels, Madeiran Petrel and White-faced Storm Petrel. On the first two afternoons of this pelagic expedition around Madeira island they will search for different bird species at different hot spots, being one day for Zino's Petrels and Madeiran Storm Petrels while on the second pelagic trip they look for Fea's Petrels and White-faced Storm Petrels. The third afternoon at sea is kept for missing species or to increase the sightings of bird species.

Madeira Island is well known for its important seabird breeding colonies. Zino´s Petrel and Deserta´s Petrel are without doubt the targets of many a birder visiting Madeira. But many other species can be seen around the island incuding Macaronesian Shearwater, Bulwer´s Petrel, Madeiran Storm Petrel and the very common Cory´s and Manx Shearwaters.

Birds and Company Pelagics run trips along the north side of the island. Late August and mid-October is a very good time of the year to spot Southern Hemisphere breeders like Great and Sooty Shearwaters and Wilson's Storm-petrel. Northern breeders are also recorded here during their migration from north to south, the skuas, Sabine's Gull and a lot of Manx Shearwater are species that can be recorded passing through.

Birds and Company Pelagics trips run between April 15th and October 15th. The boat is a small rib with 6 seats; tours are therefore limited to 5 persons.

Other sea life can be seen like the Common Dolphin, the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin, the Striped Dolphin and the Loggerhead Sea Turtle.
