Iberian Chiffchaff, Dungeness, Kent, 15th April 2001 © Mark Thomas
This bird was found by Andrew Wraithmell on Saturday 14th April when it was heard singing briefly but was lost for the rest of that day and was relocated on Sunday 15th. It sang identically to the Portland individual and additionally had a call similar but sharper than the contact call of Reed Bunting. The bird could at times be ellusive and difficult to observe and if accepted will constitute the first record for Kent. This image was taken using a Sony PC3 and a Leica 20x Apo Televid Scope on Sunday 15th April. Mark Thomas
