Eastern Meadowlark - The meadowlarks visit our yard for sunflower seeds and suet. They are always fun to watch as they stalk over the grass, probing in the dirt. They are not a normal feeder visitor in many yards, but they frequent our yard since we live on a hill surrounded by fields.

Field Sparrow - Usually Field Sparrows just stop by the yard for a quick bite to eat and then leave. This Field Sparrow, however, was quite cooperative, sitting in a tree for about twenty minutes!

Vesper Sparrow - I spotted this Vesper Sparrow sitting on a pipe fence post on a cloudy afternoon. I probably could have watched it longer than I did. When I tried to sneak closer, though, my dog dashed ahead of me and the bird flew away. Vesper Sparrow
