July–August 2011: gap-filling in Ecuador and Galápagos. October 2011: addition of newly described Varzea Thrush (thanks Dan et al.!). November 2011: Varzea Piculet (Itacoatiara, AM). December 2011–January 2012: Venezuela gap-filling, with Tepui Tinamou, Dwarf Cuckoo, Delta Softtail and Rio Orinoco Spinetail among the highlights. Sept-Dec 2012: Peru, W Brazil & Ecuador gap-filling: Scarlet-banded Barbet, Grey Wren, Chestnut-bellied Cotinga, Ecuadorian Cacique, Sapphire Quail-Dove, Rufous-fronted Antthrush, Masked Fruiteater, Hornby's Storm Petrel, etc.; Chile Jan-Feb 2013: Rufous-tailed Hawk, Markham's Storm Petrel, Chestnut-throated Huet-Huet, Pincoya Storm Petrel. Sep-Oct 2014: Colombia (first trip there since 1998) yielded such highlights as Recurve-billed Bushbird, Yapacana and Grey-bellied Antbirds, Orinoco Softtail, Perija endemics, Sooty-capped Puffbird, Choco Vireo (finally), Blue-billed Curassow, Dusky-headed Brush Finch, Baudo Oropendola, and many others. Apr 2016: Colombia again, with two spp. of Oxypogon, Cundinamarca, Urrao and Hooded Antpittas, Dusky Starfrontlet. July/August 2016: Central Peru clean-up... Sept 2016: Bolivia, with Lipaugus uropygialis, etc. Feb 2017: two new ones in 10-day trip to Colombia, both trochilids. Oct/Nov 2017: Ecuador, with Pittasoma rufopileatum, Geotrygon purpurata and Drymotoxeres pucheranii; Jul/Aug 2018: Brazil in SW Amazonia, Fernando de Noronha and MG, and Beni (Bolivia)

March 2013: a short trip to Ecuador yielded some good lifers like; Nocturnal Curassow, Salvin’s Curassow, Rufous Potoo, Wing-banded Antbird, Ochre-striped Antpitta, White-lored Antpitta, Rufous-vented Whitetip, Foothill Elaenia, Yellow-throated Spadebill, Andean Laniisoma (unfortunately, views was too shortly) and White-chinned Swift. August 2012: a Peru trip produced Long-whiskered Owlet, Cinnamon Screech-Owl, Bay-, Chestnut- and Ochre-fronted Antpitta, Green-throated-, Dotted- and Golden-backed Mountain-Tanager + many more highlights! My list follows the taxonomy, names and sequence of James F. Clements (6th Edition 2007) with a few exceptions of recent taxonomic decisions, updated till August 2013. ‘Heard only’ species are not counted. I've SEEN 2617 species when following the IOC taxonomy v4.1.
