Mark Hawkes

Cambridgeshire 208
Latest: Brent Goose 26/12,
Highlights: The bulk (170 species) have been seen on my patch. A fantastic year, with 7 county ticks (2 self-found). Species I didn't see, but could have if I'd tried, include Slav Grebe, Bar-tailed Godwit, Hen Harrier, Short-eared Owl, Bittern, Jack Snipe, Great Grey Shrike, Black Redstart, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Bearded Tit, Hawfinch - which would have smashed the previous county record (214 I set in 2003). Also, missed a Fulmar by a few minutes and didn't have a Sandwich Tern (normally find one each year!).
