Updated: 12/30/08 - Good year end in New England: European Golden Plover, Black-tailed Gull, Snowy Owls, Barnacle Goose, Saltmarsh ST Sparrow. Major misses this year; Black-billed Cuckoo (!!), Hammond's Flycatcher in the West, several southern TX species. Still a very good and enjoybale year though: - California in Sept and Arizona in July/August; July Pelagic Highlights from MA - Band-rumped, Wilson's and Leach's SPs, Cory's Shearwater, Bridled Tern. AK in June, not including Barrow. Additions in MA - Saw-whet Owl, Mourning, Worm-eating and Cerulean Warblers; from TX April in A: CC Robin, Swainson's Warbler, Black Rail: Yellow-billed and Pacific Loons (AZ/CA), plus FL in Feb (Masked Booby, Snail Kite, Limpkin, Yellow Rail, Bananaquit): MA/AZ: Highlights; Nortern Jacana (AZ), Slaty-backed Gull, Pine Grosbeak, Dovekie, King Eider, Thayer's Gull - all MA.
