My 100th bird was the great grey shrike at Chilham, Kent. (15/1) Now on the way to Middleton RSPB reserve. I am cycling to every RSPB and WWT nature reserve this year, as I did in 2010. Cycled over 675miles to Rutland Water, preventing kilograms of CO2 entering the atmosphere (I’m doing my bit – are you doing yours) Best so far - 2 Great Northern Divers, 2 Stonechats, 3 Mediterranean Gulls (found 1), 2 Black-necked Grebes, 1 Red-necked Grebe, 1 Slavonian Grebe, 11+ Scaup (found 1), 11 Smew, 1 Red-crested Pochard, 1 Pink-footed Goose, 3 White-fronted Geese (1 Greenland), 1 Great White Egret, 1 Bittern, 1 Woodlark, 10 Whooper Swans, 5+ Kittiwakes, 1 Common Scoter, 6 Little Gulls (found 1), 2 Black Terns, 14 Whimbrels, 4 Greenshanks, 18 Grey Partridges (found), 4 Little Terns (found 1), 15 Sanderlings (found 6), 3 Wood Sandpipers (found 3), 12 Turnstones (found 1), 3 Bar-tailed Godwits (found them all), 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 487 Black-tailed Godwits (found 377 of them – including a flock of 340 with an individual that was older than me at the age of 20), 1 Grey Plover, 4 Temminck’s Stints (found 3), 1 Spotted Redshank, 3 Garganey, White-winged Black Tern, 1 Knot, 1 Caspian Gull, 3 Little Stints, 1 Whinchat, 2 Bearded Tits, 1 Great Grey Shrike Latest: Great Grey Shrike (19.10.2015) http://rutlandwaterbirdnews.blogspot.co.uk/
