Was only 9 at the time, but spent 17 months traveling around Africa, Australia, new Zealand and Europe. Death Valley, Inyokern, Kern County, ect with the boys for a 4 day(?) Memorial Weekend. Highlights of this trip included 19 life birds for me. We tried really hard for the MIKI in Furnace Creek, but I didn't get a satisfying enough view to count it on my life list.

20th May 2010. Walked a round trip of 42km. Highlights:- Redwing (!) joined thrushes to mob a Tawny Owl. Others seen Stonechat, Woodcock, Cuckoo, Turnstone, Long-eared Owl, Dipper, Spotted Flycatcher, Yellow Wagtail, Common Scoter, Teal, Kingfisher, Little ringed Plover, Manx Shearwater, Willow Tit, Common Sandpiper. MiSSES include:- Grey Wagtail, Nuthatch, Sandwich Tern, Wheatear, PFGoose, Buzzard, Goosander, Snipe, Peregrine, Jay.
