Surfbirds Share A Photo
Lesser Goldfinch , Sanders, Montana USA, Thompson Falls, 15 July 2018
Less than an hour after one flew over me a couple hundred yards away, as soon as I got home, this male (no doubt the same as previously reported) was at our fake pond! He had come from the direction to and from which a female had come to the same pond almost a month ago. I expect to see juveniles soon which would make this the farthest west MT site for breeding of this otherwise rare but not so rare bird in the state.
