Ornithology

Very few birds ; like other small islands, few species, but also few individuals. No sparrows on Madeira, no Collared Doves ! Widespread species are rare: Canaries, Grey Wagtail, Plain Swift, Blackbird, Yellow-legged Gull, Buzzard, Kestrel and Feral Pigeon. Other, like Chaffinch, Berthelot's Pipit and Firecrest are common in right habitat. At sea, there are always some Cory's Shearwater.
