Birds circling herring spawn

The herring spawn began a few days ago and the amount of bird life and activity is a wonderous spectacle. Along with the large numbers of sea lions gorging themselves, are thousands of gulls and scoters, hundreds of eagles, and other locals like the Harlequins and Oystercatchers, among others. There is nothing quite as spectacular as seeing these amounts of birds feeding on the herring as their spawn turns our blue water a milky white.
